CVC Word Builders

We've been working really hard on learning our CVC words! One of our favorite activities is building words. We practice a lot with our magnetic letters up on the whiteboard. We've also been using our word builder printables to practice independently.

We're working hard on our cutting and pasting skills!

Head on over to Miss Kindergarten to read more about Word Builders and to grab an -at family freebie!

Meet Hadar {Miss Kindergarten}

Hello Friends! Since Freebielicious is now one year old, we thought it would be fun to reintroduce ourselves and celebrate with some freebies!!

I'm Hadar, author behind Miss Kindergarten!
I just love being part of this awesome collaborative blog and sharing freebies with you!

I'm a kindergarten teacher and absolutely LOVE my job! I have had the pleasure of teaching 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade as well, but my heart belongs in kindergarten, that's for sure!

When I'm not teaching or creating something for my classroom, I love shopping {especially at Target!}, eating, instagramming and hanging out with my boyfriend!
{I also apparently like to change up my hair a lot!}

Well, since this month is ALL about thanks and giving, I wanted to say thanks to all of our wonderful followers, and give you a fun little freebie!

Each month, we have our students make these little calendars!

They are great for number formation, counting, patterns, and more! I created some traceable monthly calendars for you, as well as some blank ones!

Halloween Safety {interactive mini book}

Here's a fun little interactive book to use with your kiddos before Halloween! It covers all the safety tips that are important to making trick-or-treating fun and safe!

It's interactive in that each page requires the students to complete a task!

 {Do you like my princess costume? ;) My students draw WAY better than I do!}

Black Cats and Witch's Hats!

I LOVE to sing in the classroom {even if I do have a horrible singing voice} and it really helps my students learn! Here is a fun song to teach in October!

I like to put these word cards in a pocket chart and have my students point to each card as we sing the song!

Roll Like a Pumpkin and Other Fun Movements!

I love anything fall themed, especially cute cut outs!
Aren't they cute?!

I also love getting my students to move around in creative ways!
I put the two together, and voila!

You could stick these in a cute little basket and use them when you need little "brain breaks" throughout the day. It's also a great way to throw in verbs and nouns, and fall vocabulary.

Spider Mini Unit

Even though I am not a big fan of spiders, I sure do love teaching with them!

I created a fun little mini unit based around a fun spider book that integrates graphing, writing, crafts and math!

Head on over to my blog to check it out!

Happy Fall!

Monthly Calendars {number practice}

Each month, my students practice tracing and writing their numbers with these cute monthly calendars.

This is a great way to reinforce number formation, number order and how numbers represent days.
You can also incorporate patterns into the lesson by having your students follow a specific pattern when tracing the numbers.

You can fold a large piece of construction paper {9”x12”} in half and glue the calendar to the bottom half. Decorate the top half with a fun seasonal art project or hand print art!

Each month has a traceable calendar and a blank calendar to fit the needs of your class!

You can download these calendars in my TpT store! Please let me know what you think!

I can write my name!

At the beginning of kindergarten, practicing writing your name is super important! Most of my students come in to kinder knowing how to spell their name out loud, but very few have actually had practice writing it. I made this printable to give my students a fun way to practice writing their names!

Fancy pen is probably their favorite!

Making Class Books

One of my favorite activities to do with my class is to make class books. After I bind the book together, I stick it in our classroom library for the students to read. They absolutely love it!

The first class book we are going to make this year is titled At School. This book will be all about things we like to do and can do at school.

Clip Chart Behavior Calendars

One of my favorite classroom management tools is my clip chart. I learned this idea from Rick Morris a few years back and love how it works in my classroom. I tend to be more on the positive side when it comes to reinforcing my students' behaviors, so this chart works perfectly for me!

Each day I have my students record their behavior in their behavior calendars too.
The parents love to know how their children behaved during the day.

Head on over to my blog to download the behavior calendars and read more about how I use this chart in my classroom!

Journal Writing

 Daily journal writing is very important for developing writers. I have a fun journal for my students to write in every month.

I allow as much creativity as possible and always encourage inventive spelling, however, some of my students always need a visual. For that reason, I include a vocabulary page that can be incorporated into each journal. This is also helpful in giving my students ideas and motivation to write!

 This fun little journal is perfect to get your kiddos writing through August! It comes with a cover page, vocabulary page, and several writing templates to choose from!

To download this freebie, look for the button that says "fan freebies" on my Facebook Fanpage!
While you're there, become a Facebook fan!

I also have a journal cover page and vocabulary page for September through June! You can check it out in my TpT shop!

Come stop by my blog for more tips and ideas!
